Booking a Cross Organisational Booking from a GP Practice to a Hub for Remote Consultation and Consultation Write Back is different.  Practices need to be aware of this, particularly  those switching from Remote Consultations to Consultation Write Back.

For Consultation Write Back to work patients must be registered at both a GP Practice and the PCN Hub.  Organisations should factor in resource for patient tracing at a PCN hub which must happen before any consultations can take place.

Please also note - Consultation Write Back is not an enabler for EPS. EPS is enabled in EMIS Clinical Services by the following criteria:

1. EMIS Web Clinical Services has a Y Code (Prescribing Cost Centre) in it's National Code Field
2. The Prescribing Cost Centre code is activated on the NHS Spine by NHS Digital
3. A Prescribing GP must have a Spurious Code in their EMIS User account
4. A Prescriber must have a Smartcard with the appropriate Role
5. The Organisation Details in EMIS must have a full address and a telephone number
6. Patients must be synchronised with the PDS (blue PDS symbol in Emis)

Remote Consultation Booking

When booking an a Cross Organisational Booking for a Remote Consultation from a GP Practice, the user will select the patients GP Practice as the patients organisation and the PCN Hub as the Appointment Criteria Organisation.  This should then present a list of available Cross Organisational Slots.  When a slot is selected the booking agent is prompted for the patients consent:

The booking is then completed by completing the booking Reason and any Booking notes.  Note that the patients name will be greyed out as well as their mobile number and email address (if they have thesin their GP Record):

Consultation Write Back Booking

Unlike Remote Consultations, patients do not need to be booked into a hub via a Cross Organisational Slot for Consultation Write Back to work.  The only criteria is the patient must be registered at a GP Practice as well as Registered (Traced) into the Clinical Hub.

When booking an a Cross Organisational Booking for Consultation Write Back from a GP Practice, the user must select the PCN Hub as the patients organisation and the Appointment Criteria Organisation.  They will then search to see if the patient has been registered at the PCN Hub:

If the patient is not found as a Cross-organisation patient (preferably search on the patients NHS number) the message No patients found will be displayed.  Therefore the patient will need to be booked in as an unregistered patient:

The list of available Cross Organisational Slots will now be presented:

The booking agent must include in the Booking notes information to assist Hub staff to Trace the patient from the Data Sharing Agreement, preferably the NHS Number:

The unregistered patient must then be traced and registered into the booked slot on the Hub - process here.

If a patient has used the PCN hub before then a search from the GP Practice will show them as Cross-organisation Patient:

and as with Remote Consultations, the Patients name will be greyed out as well as other past hub appointment information:
