The EMIS Web Consultation Write Back feature will allow organisations that are connected via an enterprise agreement to receive a copy of any consultation notes added to a patient’s record, e.g. if the patient has been referred to another service such as Extended Access etc. This includes Clinical Codes, free text, clinical documents and electronic medications (EPS).
Before Consultation Write Back was introduced by EMIS, sharing organisations had 3 ways to get a copy of a Consultation back into the patients GP Record:
- Remote Consultations (Remote access to patients EMIS system)
- Document Sharing (Direct Message)
- Discharge Summary (via email)
To ensure the consultation is written back to the patient’s GP record the patient must be registered (Traced) at the EMIS Hub.
The patient must also have the correct GP Links Registration Status at their own GP Practice.
Patients can be booked into an EMIS Hub either by Cross Organisation Slot or GP Connect.
All organisations in the Enterprise Agreement (EMIS Hub and GP Practices) must activate the agreement in Data Sharing Manager. When activating the agreement a Prescribing User will need to be selected.
