Setting up 111 Direct Booking

DES Contract - Enhanced Access
whilst the technology is enabled (GP Connect) there has been a push back on the DES Contract from the National DoS Team who are reluctant to profile ARRS roles within Enhanced Access.

Please note - each PCN must collaborate with their regional DoS Lead to develop their PCN DOS Profile.

Navigate to Configuration > Organisation Configuration - Organisation Group

Click on Add

Create an Organisation Group that contains the organisation of the PCN Hub and your local 111 Provider (use the National Codes to find):

You will need to ask EMIS to activate the ITK Receipt in the QF976 EMIS Web Organisation Configuration Form (attached at bottom of this page).

ITK messages can only be sent to an EMIS clinical system Instance where the DoS Service Profile identifies the true ODS code of the clinical system.

ITK messages are delivered directly into Workflow Manager in EMIS Web. It is only possible to send an ITK message from NHS111 when the true ODS code of the EMIS clinical system is recorded on the DoS Service Profile (each DoS Service Profile must have a unique ODS code)’

To make an Appointment Book only available for 111 Direct Booking (i.e. not GP Practices) you can Apply Filter and select the 111 Organisation Group and Reserve a number of slots:

A Session Holder must be added before you can access Set all and Apply Filter options.

If you do not want 111 to see a GP Connect Slot (i.e only available for GP Practices) you must apply a filter and apply a Filter Type for the Organisation Group created for the Enhanced Access service otherwise 111 will see any 111 GP Connect appointment. In the image below 111 would not be able to book any of these appointment slots:

When creating an Appointment Book/slots for 111 to book into, they will see the Session Holder, Session Name and Slot Type:

When a booking has been completed an ITK message will also appear in EMIS Workflow Manager > Document Management - Awaiting Coding:

Opening the document will give more information on the encounter and why the patient has been booked into the hub by 111:
